Well you actually read both.
The cards message will tell you its answer to the question you asked it, and the cards warning tells you what you need to watch out for
You use all three!

No, seriously, you need to use all of the card meanings. Let’s say The Light shows up as a problem in a reading. This card is… very optimistic all around, but it’d most likely be a fear of failure as stated in the clow card meaning that’s the problem.
Also: from the Introduction of the book:
“In a Clow Card reading, your own intuition is all. Look at the cards that were drawn from the deck for the reading (look up the meaning of the card if you need to), and use any intuition that flashed inside of you without reserve, and derive only your message.”
SO, you’re actually using 4 things when reading Clow Cards. XD

As I’ve already told Ness before, I’m love, love, lovin’ them for all the hard work. I’ve already started a booklet of the information she’s compiled to take off the work for her when it’s all wonderfully over. It might not be perfect, but it might spare a few hours of headache.
