Moon Reading
For when you want to ask a question about something other than love.
Method
- Cut and shuffle the Clow Cards, making sure that they are lying face-down. Count 7 cards from the top of the deck and place that 7th card into position 1.
- Count another 7 cards from the remainder of the deck and place that 7th card into position 2. Continue doing this for positions 3-6 as well.
- Take the card from the bottom of the remaining deck and place it into position 7.
What each card in their respective positions means:
- The problem
- How you now influence the concerned person(s)
- What kind of influence you have on surrounding people
- The key / key person to solving the problem
- The result if the problem is settled well
- The result if the problem is not settled well
- The solution to the problem

F is a Junior High School student who recently formed a new 5-member band after parting from the band that he had been with for one year. F (who plays bass) and Y (who plays guitar) are classmates at the same school, and the other three band members are companions that they met at the school festival of different schools. F and Y both have dreams of a professional debut in the future. F wants to continue working with the band for as long as possible, but will they succeed…?
Reading
Since THE LIGHT is in position 1 (problem), this situation has no problems at the moment, and it will probably continue to go well no matter happens. F can become a leader and bring the members together.
However, since THE VOICE is in position 2 [influence on concerned person(s)], the feeling to want to make friends with the other members is too overwhelming, and care should be taken to not wear everyone out.
With THE TWIN in position 3 (influences on surrounding people), good results can be obtained when band members make good comments on each other’s skills and cooperate with each other.
THE SWORD in position 4 (the key/key person) is a symbol of truth and power. The key for the to band continue building a relationship and prospering is F’s passion for their music; if it is genuine, everything will be fine.
In position 7 (solution) is THE FIREY, whose message is that of strong beliefs and breaking through obstacles. Continuing to dream of going professional is, in a way, a shortcut to becoming a professional.
Now, in position 6 (problem not settled well) is THE DASH: Members will begin to argue amongst themselves, and it becomes a painful situation on the way. In addition, there is a chance that F will experience a crisis that will return him back to the starting point: band dissolution.
On the other hand, THE FIGHT is in position 5 (problem settled well), so a big turning point will come and any misfortune experienced up till that point will be able to be turned around to good fortune.

Yay! I was hoping you would translate this section soon! I’m really curious how it compares to the Sun Reading, too.
If you’re going to update the site, you might as well add some sort of organization. I keep having to flip through the archives every time I try to look something up, which is okay for now, but will get a bit tedious when the entire book is translated.
“F-you and your guitar”? I almost fell down laughing at that one. Ah computer translaters… Is there nothing that can’t be mangled or be inappropraitely mistranslated at the wrong moment?
Im curious too. I wonder why they decided to make a moon and sun reading? And why did they even make a sun reading? Isn’t daily and sun reading the same because they can be both done in the morning?
From my (very slight) understanding, I’m pretty sure the Sun Reading is like a more in-depth General Fortune rather than like the daily reading.
The Sun Reading is not at all like the Daily Reading. There are 9 cards in the spread, so I’m guessing it’s more like the Moon Reading (in-depth General Reading, like Chris said). In my Daily Reading post/video, I said it was best to do the reading in the morning… but only so that the reader would know what would be happening during the day, not doing it later in the night and going: “Whoops! Maybe I could have prevented that…”
If you have watched / read Cardcaptor Sakura, then you *might* already know this. But, I’m going to repeat the facts anyways, for clarifications sake:
On the front cover of The Clow, Keroberos (Kero, Cerberus) acts as the Guardian of the Cards, and also gets to select the Candidate for the next Master of the Clow Cards. Yue, who resides on the back cover of The Clow, also acts as a guardian, and judges the Candidate when the time is right. Kero = Sun (Selector), Yue = Moon (Judge). There’s also a Sun/Moon on the back design of the Clow Cards. In the 3rd season of Cardcaptor Sakura, Sakura has to change the cards so they can tap into her power source (the Stars). So we can safely say that the Clow Cards originally ran off of Sun / Moon power (from Clow Reed).
So, the Sun Reading and the Moon Reading are like tapping into that “force” that powers the Clow Cards. It could be that the Moon Reading might be more powerful at night / depending on the phase of the moon, or that the Sun Reading is more powerful during the daytime / in the sunlight… I’m not sure. XD;;;

Oh, the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) mistakes are just little things that the OCR program didn’t pick up / read correctly. xD I only used the OCR for the Readings section because of how much text there was, but I have to correct it before translating.
I already have the forum set up on phpbb3 as a matter of fact. :3 Just need to announce it… *time to make a new post*
I have to say, i have seen some bad translations before from these websites, but that one takes the cake. How could it possible screw up that bad?
By the way, how are things coming along with the Earthbound comic? Haven’t heard much since it got hacked.
I just attempted to do myself a moon reading and to my delight, all the cards were translated ones.This makes me realize, once again, how wonderful you are for undertaking this translation project. Also, I thought perhaps I’d share this with you: I was being an idiot, and couldn’t find the translation for the Cloud card at first, so I decided to try to translate it myself (I also extremely did not feel like doing homework…). After I translated up to the Card’s meaning, I realized that you already translated it! But the differences and similarities are interesting. I have a Chinese copy of the fortune telling book. I can’t read Chinese, but I can understand it verbally. So using some heavy dictionary work, to figure out what words were, I got this result:
The Cloud: A fruit (no, seriously) snapped or divided. Argument between dark and light.
First big line of text: You can try to analyze the problem of the opposing powers in you. When in a very light, relaxed mental state, open up a window to your heart to see the circumstances clearly in order to arrive at conclusions. Reconsider is the best advice. Then your heart can be at peace.
